He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie A. Speelman and Margaret L. Speelman (Hawthorne); and his siblings, Roger Hawthrone, Wayne Speelman, Sally and Sissy Hawthorne.
He is survived by: his daughter Julie Jones (James) of Ashley; his grandchildren, Leiland and Amiyah Jones; and his brothers, Archie Speelman of Columbus and Richard Speelman (Vickie) of North Carolina.
