He is survived by: his wife Judy Ball Shafer of Centerburg; his daughter Alicia Pichardo (Miguel) of Centerburg; his son-in-law Robert White (Gena) of Galloway; his grandchildren, Andrea, Alexander, Aliya Pichardo, Emily and Quentin White; his siblings, Charles Shafer (Linda) of Jacksonville, James Shafer (Kathy) of Jacksonville, Richard Shafer (Susan) of Glouster, Donald Shafer of Glouster, Bonnie Thompson (Don) of Logan and Mary Fisher (Ben); and his siblings-in-law, Jarrel Haynes of Newark, Robert Perkins of Hebron and Jeri Shafer of Pickerington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
