He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald Kohnen and Klela Kohnen (Strete). He is survived by : his daughters, Marie Young, Liz Kohnen, Kimberly Summers and Ashley Kohnen; and his siblings, Michael Kohnen (Judy) of Chesterfield, Phil Kohnen of Edgerton, William Kohnen (Marie) of Defuniak Springs, Joseph Kohnen (Stacey) of Defiance, Melinda Vaughn (Craig) of Waynesville, Teresa Wenning (Tim) of Lima, Kathleen Skiver (Allan) of Defiance and Rosemary Kohnen of Celina. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The military honors will be held on Monday, July 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mountain Home National Cemetery (53 Memorial Ave, Mountain Home, TN 37684).
