David H. Robey Obituary
July 8, 1948 - December 19, 2017 DR. DAVID H. ROBEY, Ph.D, 69, of Cedarville, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 19, 2017 at Greene Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 8, 1948, the son of the late Harold J. Robey and Ruth I. (Biggin) Hawkins. He earned his B.A. in Bible and Speech from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, M.A. in Communications from Bob Jones University and Ph.D in Organizational Development/Communication from Union Graduate School, Cincinnati.
His professorial career in speech and communications began at Tennessee Temple University for 9 years, Cedarville University for 25 years and following his retirement, as a Management Training consultant for the past 10 years. His professional accomplishments include writing three plays, starring in three faith-based movies, and recording a 'vinyl" record.
He loved gardening, sharing his faith, meeting people, and mentoring new believers. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly J. (Weld) Robey; three sons, Jeffrey (Jackie) Robey of Louisville, KY, Jared (Desi) Robey of Cincinnati and Jason (Jill) Robey of Monument, CO; eight grandchildren, Jana, Jansen, Lee, Madelyn, Claire, Linnea, TJ, and Caden; a sister, Dorathy (Dan) Larson of Minneapolis; brothers, Steve (Lori) Robey of Cheshire, CT and Paul (Sharon) Robey of Minneapolis; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Oreo.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in Southgate Baptist Church. David"s funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Bobby Hile officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Southgate Baptist Church, 2111 S. Center Blvd, Springfield, OH 45506.
