He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Schaffer and Margaret Schaffer (Miller); and his wife Pamela Schaffer. He is survived by: his son Gary Schaffer (Krystal) of Cecil; and his siblings, Judy Ranes (Bill) of Antwerp, Pamela Spangler (Rick) of Bryan, James Schaffer of Paulding, George Schaffer (Ronda) of Hicksville and Christopher Schaffer (Patty) of Defiance. He is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
