She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence E. Kochensparger and Olivia M. Kochensparger (Miller); her husband Ray Alfred Thom; and her siblings, Frank, Clarence, Jr., John Kochensparger, Mary Fultz, Doris Bretz and Olivia Schwiefert.
She is survived by: her children, Ray A. Thom (Pam Wikel) of Castalia, Scott T. Thom (Candy Puma) of Sandusky and Jane A. Mapus (Randy) of Castalia; her grandchildren, Matthew Mapus (Brandy), James Mapus (Hannah) and Juliana Clark (Brad); her great grandchildren, Caitlynn, Grace, Claire, Brynn, Evan Mapus, Lillian, Paige, Noah and Ellie Clark; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Kearstin Nichols-Bosley (Allen), Todd Esposito and Gunner Garlock; her great great grandchild Shaylynn Mapus (Izen Nichols-Bosley); her sister Ruth Witter (David); and her sister-in-law Edna May LeBarre (Gerald). She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute to Shirley's memory may do so to Holy Angels or Stein Hospice.
