He was predeceased by: his father Gilbert G. Kromer; and his nephew Gilbert D. Kromer. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Krista Mulvin, Lenny Kromer (Amy) and Benjamin Kromer; his grandchildren, Christian, Cameron, Caleb Hupp and Ava Taylor; his mother Elizabeth "Betty" Kromer; his siblings, Lori Wilkes (Tim), Lisa Bailey (Mark), Lynnette Kromer (Jim Kimberlin) and Leslie "Homer" Kromer (Holly); and his cousin Justin Jump. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
