He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Albert and Anna Marie Volk (Difloe); his son Gerald Edward Volk, Jr.; and his siblings, Mary Louise Alexander, James and Paul Volk.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, Daniel and Robert Volk; his stepson J. D. Rutt; and his siblings, Sally Pace, Judy Kappler and Charles Volk. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
