He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Brannon and Elsie McQueen Brannon; and his son Michael. He is survived by: his wife Linda Heflin; and his children, Robert Brannon and Betty Brannon. He is also survived by six grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
