He was predeceased by: his father Orval Mapes. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Mapes (Hardesty); his children, Cindy Mapes, Sandy Gardner and Douglas Mapes (Peggy); his grandchildren, Cassandra Smith, Sabrina Durbin (Jeremy), Kelsea Naylor (Jonathan), Doug Mapes (Jennifer) and Maggie Russ (Logan); his great grandchildren, Ellis Durbin, Makenzie Sproul, Jozlyn Smith, Luke and Oliver Naylor; and his sisters, Glenda Carter (Charlie), Sally Saunders (Willy) and Teresa Smith (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
