He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Garvin and Julia Garvin; and his brother Larry Garvin. He is survived by: his wife Nettie Garvin; his children, Mary Ann Skidmore (William), John Garvin Jr. (Nickie) and Jeff Garvin (Jenny); his grandchildren, William Scott, Jorie Justine, Kennedie Nicole and Kash James; and his siblings, Barbara "Sis" Steele (Dave) and Lester "Max" Garvin (Cherry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
