With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Schmelzer Sr. (Carroll, Ohio), who passed away on May 1, 2020 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Schmelzer and Thelma Schmelzer; and his brothers, Paul, Bernie and Joseph Schmelzer.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Schmelzer; his children, Cathy Schmelzer of Lancaster, Ohio, Tracy Crockett (Nathen) of Lancaster, Ohio, Beth Buchinger (Eric) of Lancaster, Ohio and Gary R. Schmelzer (Marilee) of Lancaster, Ohio; and his siblings, Ernie Schmelzer of Lancaster, Ohio, Bill Schmelzer (Polly) of Lancaster, Ohio, Francis Schmelzer (Delores) of Lancaster, Ohio, Louise Brill of Lancaster, Ruth Skaggs (Curt) of Waverly, Mary Chandler (Ralph) of Rockbridge and Elizabeth Schmelzer of Lancaster. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.
In light of the restrictions of the Coronavirus, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at Victory Hill Church of God.
