She was predeceased by: her parents, Minor N. Maxwell and Cecil C. Maxwell (DeBolt); her spouse Joy M. Armstrong; and her siblings, Wanda Dennis, Ruth McPhena, Lawrence Rose and Chester Maxwell.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Armstrong (Cookie) and Leslie Armstrong of Mount Gilead; and her brother Marshall Maxwell.
