He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Laney and Mae Laney (Ratliff); his children, James Edward Laney and Corina Laney; and his siblings, Edward Laney, Wade Laney, Dave "John" Laney Jr., Hobert Laney, Mary, Daisy Tackett and Dell Laney.
He is survived by: his sons, Rob Laney of Wickliffe and Michael Laney (Kim) of Greenwich; his grandchildren, Cassie, Cody, Michaela, Cheyenne, Robbie, Shane, Brian, Marsha, Hannah, Adavee and Chloe; his brothers, Robert Laney (Diane) of Shiloh and Joe Laney (Johnnie) of Cardington; and his former wife Sondra Clark.
