He was predeceased by: his parents, Hildreth N. Smith and Zada G. Smith (Sesser); and his siblings, Eleanor Barber, Betty Schrock, Hildreth N. "Sonny" Smith, Jr., Willard Smith, Shirley Martinez and Vera Landon.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Hinton; and also, Harold Smith (Jessica) of Galion and Travis Smith of Cardington. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
