He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gottlob Ackerman and Imo Ackerman (Axthelm); his wife Lucille Heimlich; his daughters, Carol Wahl (Edward Wahl) of Cardington and Donna McGinnis (Richard McGinnis) of Cardington; his grandchildren, Brady Wahl of Somerville, Emily Wahl (Eric Macey) of Portland, Morgan Wahl (Joy Harper) of Cambridge, Molly Clinger (Matt) of Ashley and Mindy McGinnis of Cardington; his great grandchildren, Paige, Ryan Clinger, Marlo, Marnie Young and Augustine Harper Wahl; his brother Kenneth Ackerman; his brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Vernon Heimlich; and his siblings, Robert Ackerman and Esther Cobourn (Ackerman). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kindred Hospice of Marion, Ohio or St. John Lutheran Church (Windfall).
