He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil T. McKnight and Cora Strawn McKnight; his wife Nina Collins McKnight; his children, Martha Ellen McKnight and David Eric McKnight; his son-in-law Jack H. Houchard; his siblings, Melvin McKnight, James McKnight, Gyneth Boyle and Ruth Ann Rafferty; and his great grandchild Maclaren McKnight.
He is survived by: his daughters, Christina Houchard and Gina D'Andrea (Anthony); his siblings, Helen Zwiebel (Paul) and Charles McKnight (Rita); his grandchildren, Joshua David McKnight (Megan) of Maryland, Kathryn Rose Houchard of Pennsylvania and Anthony David D'Andrea of Ohio; and his great grandchildren, David, Madelyn and Ava. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
