He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Schafer and Juliana Schafer (Stubavi); and his sisters, Nancy Leasure and Rita. He is survived by : his wife Vicky of Canton; his sons, Marcus Schafer (Mikayla Kenneway) of Lyndhurst and Matthew Schafer (Carly Calabrese) of Highland Heights, Ohio.; his siblings, Joe Schafer (Jane) and Ann Berg (Dan); his brother-in-law Mike Leasure; and his godchildren, Chris and Katrina. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Rossi Family Funeral Home, Inc. (730 30th St NW, Canton, OH 44709). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Christ the Servant Catholic Parish (1001 39th St NW, Canton, OH 44709).

In lieu of flowers, donations, in Mark's name, may be made to Christ the Servant Catholic Parish.
