He is survived by: his nieces, Cindy Briggs, Diane Hickman (Dave) and Susan Holb; his great-nieces, Tonia Crescenzo (Tony) and Jennifer Oliver (John); his great-nephew David Holb (Sandi); and his cousins, Barbel Pflugfelder (Sonny), Eleanor Kern, Joanne Shankel (Don), Nancy Loury and Bob Viertel (Dorothy). He is also survived by great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Elmer's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
