He was predeceased by: his father William Wheeler; his grandparents, Dale and Idella Lash; and his aunt Carol Archinal. He is survived by: his mother Jean Wheeler; his wife Marie Wheeler; his daughters, Brittney Johnson (Joel) and Kaley Schnabel (Luke); and his grandchildren, Aubrey Johnson, Abigail Schnabel, Connor Schnabel and Aiden Schnabel.

In lieu of flowers consider a donation in Darrell's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
