She was predeceased by: her parents, Anesti Papadopoulos and Ruth Papadopoulos (Theodore Pergins); and her siblings, Evgenia, Theodore and Andreas.

She is survived by: her children, Peter, James and Ruth Pergins; her grandchildren, Elena, Thena and Theodore Pergins; her sister Irene; and her godchildren, Maria, Alexander of Greece and Chris Nash. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Memorial donations in Athena's name can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
