He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Royce and Dorothy Root (Randolph); his children, Robert Root Jr., Christopher Root and Robbie Root; his siblings, Lillian Gelet, Ruth Tablac, William and Rolland Root; and his mother-in-law Eileen Galip.
He is survived by: his wife Rochelle "Shelley" Galip; his children, Roy Root (Misty), Dallas Root (Rhonda), William Root (Debbie), Paula Root-Cribley, Dawn Rocco (Matt) and Bradley Root (Nikki); his father-in-law Attorney Ronald Galip; his sister-in-law Kathy Galip; and his faithful playmate Peanut. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
