He was predeceased by: his parents, William Playforth and Margaret Playforth (Pollock); and his siblings, June McCartney, Violet Crowther and Bill Playforth.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Edwards; his daughters, Georgia Wilson (Mark) of Ellsworth, Becky Snyder (Brian) of Ellsworth, Peggy Brucoli (Mark) of Canfield and Beverly Suess (Mike) of Cincinnati; his sister Mildred Kersten of Canfield; his grandchildren, Justin (Jenna), Alexandra (Peter), Parker (Angie), Edward, Jake, Paige, Ben, Maggie, Payton (Brenna), Nolan, Samantha (Lee) and Reese; and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Andrew and Jack.
Because of George's love for animals, the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, material tributes take the form of.
