We are sad to announce that on February 28, 2024, at the age of 72, Douglas Van Rees of Canfield, Ohio, born in Oskaloosa, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris W. Rees and Josephine L. Van Rees (Parker); and his sister Cheryl Chianello. He is survived by: his wife Debra Osborn; his children, Jason Van Rees of Tampa, FL, Adam Van Rees (Dawn) of Tampa, FL, Mara Fritz (Tony) of Ocala, FL and Brie Commesso (Dave) of Boardman; his grandchildren, Samantha, Connor, Max, Alexa, Vivian and Lincoln; his brothers, Greg Van Rees (Judy) of Oskaloosa, IA and Victor Van Rees (Debbie) of Iowa City; and his in-laws, Sam Chianello, Rex Osborn (Sue), Greg Osborn (Holly) and Terry Osborn (Mary Ann). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
