He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon H. Sweet Jr. and Hazel Stake; his siblings, Nancy Hodgson, Carol Rhodes and Gordon A. Sweet; his brothers-in-law, John Hodgson and Howard Grable; and his son Daniel Sweet, Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Linda Sweet; his children, David Sweet, Jr. (Michelle) and Daneale Sweet (Shawn); his sisters, Sylvia Grable, Jo Jacobs (Jake) and Pat Michaels (Niles); and his brother-in-law Harry Rhodes. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews.
