He was predeceased by: his parents, Saturnino Esparra and Felipa Martinez; his daughter Minerva "Memby" Esparra-Saver; and his siblings, Jesus, Trinidad, Olympio Esparra, Firmia Esparra-Martinez and Lydia Esparra.

He is survived by: his wife Eufemia "Nin" Vasquez Agosta; his children, Rosa Esparra (Bob Buchanan) of Sylvania, Ohio, Porfirio Esparra Jr. (Sandy) of Youngstown, Leticia Esparra-Gonzalez of Campbell, Diana Esparra (Tom Parry) of Youngstown, Elsa Esparra (Ray Garcia) of Navarre, Florida, Reynaldo "Reyno" Esparra (Nancy) of Boardman, Lydia Esparra (Greg Truhan) of Strongsville, Ohio, Anabel Esparra (Jim Collins) of Poland and Lilian Esparra (Craig Maddox) of Bay Village, Ohio; and his brother Jorge. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His contributions to the Puerto Rican community extended far beyond the church walls.

“It is with great sadness that we cannot be there for Fido’s funeral. He was an incredible human, kind and loving to all he met. His music left a lasting impression to the Youngstown community and far beyond as guitar just sang for others. He and Nin are pillars of the community and left a beautiful legacy to his children and grandchildren. Our deepest condolences from the Vázquez Seguinot family, Aida and children.
