The memory of John E. Walko (Campbell, Ohio), who passed away on February 22, 2025 at the age of 95, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Walko and Malvina Walko (Halape); his former wife Florence Makarevich; his wife Anita Walko (Nightingale); and his siblings, Mary Antonitz, Lucille Vrancich, Ann Del Duchetto, Dorothy Ayers, Theresa Tokasz, Elizabeth "Betty" Tascik, Carl and Frank Walko.
He is survived by: his children, Janet Avvisati (Claude) of Villa Park, Pauline Slovick (Joseph) of Newbury Park and John Walko (Jennifer) of Wexford; and his grandchildren, Jessica Walker, Lindsey Finney, Danielle Avvisati, Adrian Slovick, Catie Slovick, Melina Walko and Katarina Walko. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wasko Funeral Home (216 Coitsville Rd, Campbell, OH 44405). A prayer will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish (159 Reed Ave, Campbell, OH 44405).
The Family has asked for donations in lieu of flowers to be sent to The Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 50 Warner Rd. Hubbard OH, 44425.
