He is survived by: his stepfather Carl Jenkins; his spouse Betty Carpenter (Boggs); his children, Nanette Ruark (Darrell) of Marengo, OH, Richard Carpenter Jr. (Charlotte) of Macksburg, OH and Kelly Carpenter of Vienna; his sisters, Glenedi Tice (William) of Bradenton, FL, Carol Modesitt (Bruce) of Longs, SC and Janet Haught of Marietta; his grandchildren, Jeremy Carpenter, Janette Hart (Rick) and Eric Ruark; his great grandchildren, Reagan (John), Kole, Brandon, Drew, Lily, Jazzmine, Laekyn and Payson; and his aunt Verona Enoch. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephew.
