He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Cottingim and Margaret Cottingim; and his siblings, Carol Kennedy, Susie Cottingim and Tommy Cottingim.

He is survived by: his children, Susan Cottingim, Janice Cottingim-Sain, Heather Cottingim, Victoria "Annie" Cottingim and Ralph Cottingim, Jr.; his siblings, Ray, Keith, Mary Anderson and Alice Keegan; and his close friends, Eric Taylor, Dustin Smith, Chris Taylor, Ivy and Teddy. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
