Philip Wayne Sturm Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Philip Wayne Sturm (Camden, Ohio), born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, who passed away on February 9, 2020 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Annette Tucker Sturm; his great-nephew Christopher Wayne Heater; and his parents, Okey Woodrow and Ruth Geraldine Sturm (Smith-Jones). He is survived by: his daughters, Melanie Valentine (Russ) of Cambridge, OH, Leslie Rollings (Brian) of Tyler, TX and Betsy Thornabar (Anthony) of Parkersburg, WV; and his siblings, Pat Michaels of Parkersburg, Judy Adams (Cliff) of Reedsville, OH and Dwight Sturm (Carolyn) of Washington, WV. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In 2000, he was chosen by the Faculty Merit Foundation of West Virginia as the West Virginia Professor of the Year.
