He was predeceased by: his parents, Judge S. Craig and Hilda Knowlton Carnes; his brother David Carnes; his stepdaughter Nancy Clark; and his stepgrandson Brad Hanners.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Carnes; his children, Kim Carnes (Jan), Tina Kelsey and Candy Webb (Bob); his stepdaughter Beth Motes (Joe); his grandchildren, Dagan Carnes, Alicia Hanners, Ben Carnes (Carmen), Lucas Carnes (Karyn), Samuel T. Carnes (Caitlin), Micah Aloisio (Jeff) and Jordan Hensley (Steve); his great grandchildren, Lilly, Hunter, Blakely, Ellis Carnes, Austin, Luke, Mia Hanners and Pypar Ledford; his great great grandchild Radley Hanners; and his friends, John Eynon and David Roscoe.
