He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Bud" and Edith Ayers (Hanson); his parents-in-law, Aubrey and Mary Martin (Dillion); and his sister Shirley Ayers Jud.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Ayers (Martin); his brothers, Jack Ayers (Ann) and Tom Ayers (late Kitty); his brother-in-law Hank Jud (Melinda); his children, Julie Paton (Rich) of Aurora, Mark Ayers (Lorri) and Scott Ayers (Debbie) of Matthews; his grandchildren, Chris, Abigail, Chad and Tyler Ayers; and his stepgrandson Zachary Paton.
