He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewett Gray and Iona Jeannette Gray (Campbell); his former wife Patty Gray (Smith); and his brother David Gray. He is survived by: his wife Deborah "Debbie" Gray (Miller); his children, Mike Gray (Lynn) of Westerville, Kenny Gray (Julie) of Zanesville, Debbie Lilienthal (Rob) of Cambridge and Cindy Tidd (Don) of Spartanburg, SC; his stepchildren, Brandi Kondracke (Chris) of Gahanna, Nathan Taylor (Michelle) of Westlake and Irish Rubright (Todd) of Senecaville; his siblings, Leonard Gray (Shelly) of Rockbridge, Lenora Douglas of Cambridge, Juanita Savage (Gene) of New Concord, Betty Davis of Cambridge and Kathy Gibson (Jim) of Cambridge; and his siblings-in-law, David Secrest, Pete Smith (Martha) of Cambridge, Andy Miller (Tina) of Reinersville, Paula Gray of New Concord and Carrie Price of Zanesville. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
