He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Fitzgerald and Laura Fitzgerald (MacNaulty). He is survived by: his wife Charleen Fitzgerald (Bailey); his children, Michael Fitzgerald of Ravenna and Elizabeth Fitzgerald of Columbus; and his sisters, Catheleen Fitzgerald and Beverly Gunther (Joe) of Ohio.

He also loved all animals, donating aluminum cans to the Animal Shelter and adopting animals through the World Wildlife.
