He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie H. McCollum and Agnes McCollum (Kawa); his daughter Jody Hart; his brother-in-law Tom Laird; and his stepson Michael McKinney.
He is survived by: his wife Leanna J. McCollum (Starr); his mother-in-law Bonnie Starr; his sister-in-law Nancy Laird; his son-in-law Charlton Hart; his nephews, Scott Jones and Jack Carroll; his niece Tracy Roller; his grandchildren, Jessica Nicholas (Bryan) of North Carolina, Heather Whited (John) of Cambridge, Jonathan McKinney of Kentucky, Katelyn McKinney (Chance Wheeler) of Caldwell and Kody McKinney of Caldwell; his great grandchildren, Race Nicholas of North Carolina, Lauren Nicholas of North Carolina, Noelle Nicholas of North Carolina and Brayleigh Whited of Cambridge; his aunt Monta Miller of Port Washington; and his uncle Jerry McCollum (Lilian) of Florida. He is also survived by several cousins; and many friends.
