He is survived by: his wife Elnora Hymes (Glaskill); his sister Sara Dumbauld (Bill) of Pickerington; his nieces, Melissa McAdam (Rick) of Livingston, Montana, Sara Elizabeth Marsino of Naples, Kim Bolton (Mark) of Navarre and Anna Henry of Grove City; his nephew David Henry of Cambridge; his sister-in-law Naomi Jean Henry of Cambridge; and his granddaughter Hallie Davis (Tommy).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions made in John's name be made to the Guernsey County Humane Society, 108A Franklin Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio, 43725.
