He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Tompkins and Claire Tompkins (White); and his son Jason Tompkins. He is survived by: his granddaughter Caitlyn Tompkins; his siblings, Linda Stewart of Florida and Bill Tompkins of Medina; and his close friends, Tom Tedrick, Dick Raptis, Mack Bentley, Dick Fisher, George Hoyt, James Crouser, Rodney "Bear" Moseley and Kenny LaRocco.
