He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert E. Carpenter and Marjorie Carpenter (Friel). He is survived by: his wife Diana L. Carpenter (Roberson); his children, Onnah Carpenter of Greenville and Amy Carpenter of Salesville; his grandchildren, Kaela Maurer, Kendall Maurer, Andrew Thornsberry and Piper Wildes; and his brother Jeffery Carpenter (Gail). He is also survived by two nieces and one nephew.
