He was predeceased by: his son William Clyde Mathews; and his siblings, Norma Jean, Betty, Lois, Ruth, Sonny and Richard.
He is survived by: his daughter Becky Steffen (Kenis) of Orrville; his grandchildren, Matthew Steffen (Urbana) of Cambridge, Tiana Beichler (Drew) of Medina and Michael "Bean" Steffen of Cambridge; and his great grandchildren, Briggs Beichler and Caden Beichler.
