He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Clifford Rice and Thelma Hazel Rice (Bloomer); his brother Charles; his sister-in-law Vivian Rice; his sister Donna Jean; and his former wife Rosemary Rice (Sawyer).
He is survived by: his wife Martha Elizabeth Davis Rice (Handy); his children, Randy Rice (Gail), Rick Rice (Sally), Dawn Sapp (Alan) and Mary Calderhead (Kevin); his foster daughter Ying (Oi Ping); his stepchildren, Amy Brown (Clifford), Barry Davis (Jennifer Beers) and Adam Davis (Cassandra); his grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Joseph, Olivia, Abigail, Sarah Grace, Micah and Hannah Rose; his stepgrandchildren, Sean, Emma and Maddox; his great grandchild Bailey; and the mothers of child, Mary and Joyce Rice (Dawson).
