She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Morris and Irma Irene Kappel Smith; and her husband Bill Patterson. She is survived by: her close friend Janet Stover; her daughters, Darlene Roe (Mark) of Senecaville and Cheryl D. Patterson of Orrville; her siblings, Leland Smith (Connie) of Texas, Paul Smith of Caldwell, Larry Smith (Susan) of Cambridge, Dean Smith (Pat) of Louisville, Dwain Smith (Ruth) of Caldwell, Janie Madden (Kevin) of South Carolina, Vickie Snyder (Rick) of Caldwell, Darrel Smith (Shirley) of Caldwell and Dave Smith of Caldwell; and her grandchildren, Nathan, Reiley, Kevin, Allen and Rachel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
