He was predeceased by: his parent Otis Gibson; his parents-in-law, Kenneth Hickman and Betty Hickman; his grandson Stephen Leo Eltringham; and his siblings, Linda Hickman, Peggy Fowler and Otis Gibson.
He is survived by: his parent Ruby Townsend Gibson; his wife Janice Betty Hickman Gibson; his children, Lana VanHoose (Clint) of Caldwell, Rhonda Pangle (David) of Caldwell, Frances Gibson of Caldwell and Bryan Gibson of Caldwell; his sons-in-law, Tony Sholtis of Mt and Steve Eltringham of Caldwell; his grandchildren, Ashley Sholtis (Josh McLean), Josh Sholtis (Dani), Kayleigh Pangle (Ceejay Riding), Morgan Pangle, Cody Pangle, Michael Gibson, Brandy Martin (Adam), Bethann Gibson, Roxxane Fritz (Dusty), William Moore, Sammi VanHoose and Anika VanHoose; his siblings, Audry Ward (Joe) of Florida, Billy Gibson (Sue) of Florida, Nola Burnham (James) of Florida, Julie Foster of Alabama, Leon Gibson of Alabama, Joyce Neuss of Alabama and Gary Gibson of Alabama; and his siblings-in-law, Dewey Fowler of Florida, Ronnie Hickman of Caldwell, Erma Gibson Davis of Florida, Joyce Young of Caldwell and Debbie Hansis (Jack) of Marietta, OH.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
