She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Brassfield and Hazel Brassfield; her husband Gene Brooks Sr.; her son Gerald Brooks; her brother Theodore Brassfield; her siblings-in-law, Lucille Brassfield, Charles H. Brooks, Jr. and Hartzell Brooks (Buddy); and her great grandchild Stacy Brooks.
She is survived by: her sister Arlene Moss; her children, Sheila (Thomas Alexander Sr.), Shelly (Todd Reed Sr.) and Gene (Darlene Brooks); her grandchildren, JT (Deanna Reed), Catrina Reed, Marcus Brooks and Dustin Brooks; and her great grandchildren, Kieley, Shaniah, Shaylah, Elijah, Sabreah and Jordan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
