He was predeceased by: his parents, George T. Hewitt and Vivian Heist Hewitt; and his sisters, Clarke Hewitt (George Hewitt), Marie Miller and Priscilla Schwenck.

He is survived by: his sister Florence Bruno of Dahlonega, GA.; and his nieces, Joanne Schwenck Roberts (John Roberts), Susan Bruno Greco and Lisa Bruno Roselli. He is also survived by his family and friends.
