He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Eberhart and Esther McKibben Eberhart; his daughter Sherry Eberhart; and his brothers, Craig and Ronald Eberhart.
He is survived by: his children, Russell Eberhart, Richard Eberhart (Pennie) and Penny Gilbert of Cadiz; his siblings, Gary Eberhart of Cadiz, Ohio, Patricia LaPorte of New Philadelphia and Peggy Hanna (Tom) of Vermillion, Ohio; his sister-in-law Patricia Eberhart of Cadiz; and his child Nira Richards of Cadiz. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
