It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Joan McElroy of Byesville, Ohio, born in Newcomerstown, Ohio, who passed away on January 31, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alice Walcott (Wynn) and Harry Lighty; her stepfather Everett Walcott; her siblings, Martha Belle and Thomas Lighty; her daughter-in-law Traci McElroy; and her grandsons, Clint Cornette and Shawn McElroy.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Lee McElroy, Connie Joan McElroy and James Allen McElroy (Laverne); her husband James McElroy; her son Bob McElroy; and her grandchildren, Jamie Moore (Justin), Bryan McElroy (Angela), Jorge Octavio Lazoya (Nyda) and Michael Olivas. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren.
