He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl F. Starrett and Kathryn Jones (Dobbs). He is survived by: his wife Sandy Starrett (Valentine); his daughters, Tracey Clayson (Corey) of Louisiana, Sue Daughtery (Dan) of Cambridge and Angie Smith (Ted) of Texas; his stepchildren, Steve Fenwick of Byesville and Shelly Neff (Rick Bradford) of Quaker City; his brothers, Robin Starrett (Judy) of Florida and Johnny Jones of Cambridge; and his close friends, George and Lori Tolbert. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
