He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil M. Irvin and Esther Murray Irvin; his son Robert Christian Irvin; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne Reese and Lance Carpenter.

He is survived by: his wife Erma Christian; his daughters, Catherine (Jeffrey Coffey), Donna Schwartz and Patricia (Richard Kitson); his grandchildren, Daniel Schwartz, Amanda Schwartz, Douglas, Samantha Schwartz, Sarah Kitson (Tim Eyerdom), Mary Kitson and Ben Kitson; his great grandchild Solomon Anderson; his sisters, Pauline Reese of Wooster and Carol Carpenter of Lake Wales, FL; his nieces and nephews, Amy Macak, Joy Hinkel, Thomas Reese and Molly Hill; and also, Rachael, Robert and Zachariah Anderson.
