He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Leonhart and Leona M. Leonhart (Smith); his sisters, Ruth Stump and Margaret Leonhart; and his wife Ruth A. (Motter).

He is survived by: his children, Mike Leonhart (Jennifer) of Bucyrus, Lori Gonzalez of Findlay and Darin Leonhart of Bucyrus; his grandchildren, Kyle, Dominique, Adrian, Char-Lynn, Josh and Ann; and his brother Kenneth Leonhart of New Washington. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
