He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Watson and Susan Watson (Hensley); and his siblings, Janice, Mary, Thelma, Beverly, Sharon, Clarence Jr., Larry, John and Kenneth.

He is survived by: his great grandchild Joshua Watson; his former wife Julia Kendall; his children, Ron Watson (Traci), Lisa Schott (Mike) and Cristy Shaffer (John); and his siblings, Thurman Watson and Kathleen Cook (John). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
